Physics Lecture at Harrow Boys School. - posted 23rd Nov

Sixthformers visit Harrow School to attend a prestigious Physics lecture

On Tuesday 2nd October AS Physics students attended the Rayleigh Lecture at Harrow Boys School. This is a very prestigious event and this year’s speaker was Professor John Ellis, the Clear-Maxwell Professor of Theoretical Physics at Kings College London. Professor Ellis has published over 1000 scientific papers during an illustrious career at the university and at CERN, he has more citations than any other scientist globally. He gave a very engaging talk about the origins and the fate of the universe and how research is attempting to answer the big unknowns in science.

Sixth Form enjoy outdoor activities at PGL

To kick start the summer, the Sixth Form students spent a weekend away PGL in Bawdsey Manor, Suffolk. It was a stunning adventure centre, located directly on the coast and we took part in a series of thrilling outdoor activities including the trapeze and the giant Swing! The trip was a chance for us to have a short break away and begin to wind down before the hectic year ahead. It also allowed us to bond and interact in a memorable way. Not only was it fun but the trip enabled us - and our teachers, to conquer our fears be it of heights, climbing or shooting arrows!

Elevate Educate programme for Year 12 - posted 11th Sep

Year 12 had an opportunity to attend Study Sensei programme on Tuesday 1st November. Elevate Education run their study skills programmes for Year 12 students in order to help them change their mindsets in approaching exams and study skills. Elevate’s study skills workshops and seminars are designed to achieve behavioural change amongst students. It is not enough that students simply understand what they need to do in their study: the challenge in any study skills programme is getting students to use and apply the skills they learn. Elevate gets students using the skills from its seminars and workshops by using an integrated process that works.
